Weber 7416 Rapidfire Chimney Starter Customer Review

I'd been on a mission for a new electric charcoal starter, backed up and read the reviews for this one from Weber. It seemed very simplistic and very functional, so I bought one. I have to say that this chimney starter is truly amazing! I wasn't thrilled with the amount of smoke generated from the smoldering newspaper in the first 5-10 minutes, but beyond that, the charcoals heated quickly and within about 15 minutes, the charcoals were ready to go. We cooked two thick steaks on it and it was fantastic! I liked the electric starter because it was clean and simple, but this starter is terrific, too! Get beyond the smokiness of the start, the heating of the charcoal is fast and consistent. Once the coals on the top were ashen, they were ready to roll. Dumped them into the kettle grill and within minutes, we were ready to cook steaks on the grill. I have nothing to say beyond the simple fact that the steaks were delicious and it's because the grill was perfect for cooking steaks!

Great "idiot-proof" charcoal starter that's very effective! I can't believe I wasted so much time on an "artificial" starter!

The premium one is much thicker and seems like it should hold up well. It is a little shorter than I would like it since it barely covers the lower holding rack. This cover fits the Weber Genesis perfectly. We had a heavier one before, but it shrunk and became very difficult to slip over the grill. In fact, the seams ripped from all the tugging we had to do to fit the cover. The only problem is that it doesn't keep the outside of the grill dry after it rains because water leaks in through the mesh "window." I guess the window is necessary for air circulation. The old grill cover had the same problem, but I don't mind it too much. I would buy this again because it is durable.

These do do a good job for indirect cooking. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, push them together and you get a really good sear too. For thick steaks, I'll put these side by side and sear the steak on both sides. Then I put the holders on opposite sides of the kettle and finish the steaks indirect. That works very well. The baskets are decent quality. They look like they will last for a good while. I think these are a very good purchase for Weber users.

Yes, it seems this cover is big enough to host a circus. Fortunately, I just use it to cover my grill. Weber makes very nice covers, and the cover for the 26 is no exception. It easily slides over the grill and hangs almost all of the way to the ground. This is nice, since a cover I have for a 22 inch kettle only covers half of the legs. I am still using a Weber cover that has been on a grill for 10 years. When you buy this expect quality, longevity, and most importantly, a clean grill.

I spent less on a cheaper quality (thinner) vinyl cover for our new Ducane gas grill. It was thin, and only covered the top of the grill, leaving the cabinet exposed. It looked funny, and one large gust of wind would have surely sent it flying through our yard. I returned it to our local hardware store and found this Ducane cover here on Amazon. For more, the quality is much better (thicker and padded on the inside); like night and day. The fit is perfect; snug enough so it's not going anywhere, and comes down to just above the wheels. I would highly recommend this cover. You get what you pay for!

I purchased this cover for my Weber Spirit E-210 grill. To date, I am very pleased with the quality of this grill cover. Many other covers I have owned have faded or ripped rather quickly. This cover is of a quality material, not too heavy, but not too light. It has a mesh strip front and back (just below the weber insiginia in the picture) which allows heat to escape. It also has velcro strips at the bottom on each side which can be adjusted for a snug fit. This cover fits the E-210 perfectly. In the past my grill covers have for one reason or another been a hassle to take on and off to the point where I didn't want to use them. I am pleased to say this cover slips on and off easily! My grill sits in direct sunlight for much of the day and I was very concerned this cover would fade quickly as many others have. While it has not been a long time (2 months) it is very apparent this cover's color is going to hold up much better than the others. This cover was worth every penny

The vinyl seems a tiny bit on the thin side, but c'mon, what do you want for ? canvas? this cover is well suited to protect your grill from all of the elements. The cover fits well, but it's also very easy to slip on without much hassle. I have used and abused mine and it still has no rips or holes. The only downsides I can really think of are; it is a bit thin (but feels durable enough to protect your grill) and to my knowledge it only comes in one bland light blue-ish color.

I love my new s-450 grill and want it to last 20 years, so a good cover is necessary. The Weber 7554 cover fits perfectly, has great velcro traps for a nice tight fit for the winter or extended non-use times. The new redesigned cover does NOT have vents, which is a plus and a minus. As I have read, some people did not like the fact that rain water came in and made a mess of the shelves. Not a problem anymore. However, i feel there should be some kind of ventilation as condensation and moisture has no escape while covered. Each time I uncover it the grill is damp. Not sure if this will promote rust. Only time will tell. My last grill had a good basic cover (purchased at K Mart) which had small riveted holes for ventilation. I give the cover 4 stars due to a lack any of vents.

If you have a Weber Q-type grill or similar grill that requires this size pan these are exactly what you need. I looked in various supermarkets, department stores, and even outdoors/camping suppliers and could not find these pans.

If you have the same problem - no local supply, then order these. They fit perfectly in the Weber holder. The only disadvantage is their cost. I would have thought they could be less costly.

One way to help with the cost is to line the pan with some plain old aluminum foil, it's easy to do. This will help extend the life because you can throw out the foil liner you've added, and re-use the pan.
